Whoever referred you should have kept you informed about the road map, it was always planning to hit the public exchange by Q1 of 2018. While a lot of altcoins are merely ideas, Dascoin has already fully functional products. It has it's own blockchain, the webwallet, coins already secured on it, a hardware wallet and last but not least the internal exchange.
