What is The Dark Web?

The Dark Web has been defined as :

The part of the World Wide Web that is only accessible by means of special software, allowing users and website operators to remain anonymous or untraceable.

Buuuut, that's not very informative. So allow me to explain a bit more.

• The Surface Web

The Surface Web is the part of the internet we use in our day to day lives. Most of us never have any reason to explore further or even know that there is something more to explore.

We access the Surface Web using browsers such as Chrome and Firefox, and it has myriad functions.

• The Deep Web

The Deep Web is the part of the internet whose information is not indexed by search engines{Yahoo, Google, Bing,etc}.

Thus, this part for the Internet cannot be accessed using surface browsers, as the surface browsers rely on search engines, and the Deep Web is conveniently invisible to ordinary search engines.

• The Dark Web

The Dark Web is the part of the Deep Web that is chock full of illegal services and goods.

You want drugs? Done.
Want to hire a hit man? Sure.
Want to watch people molest and torture children?Ok.

The Dark Web is a cesspool filled with the worst things most people can imagine. It is the major reason why child pornography still exists in such large quantities. It is fairly easy to become anonymous on the Dark Web, and this has posed as a complex problem for law enforcement authorities.
