Embracing the Darkweb

in #darkweb7 years ago

So we all love the concept of DeepOnion, we love the anonymity, the speed, the security the list goes on. The founders and development team and mods have taken the product from nothing to something very special in a very small amount of time. I’m a commercial analyst working for a company that has had similar success story early on and now is the leader in their game, I’m confident DeepOnion is heading in the same direction.

This is all good news, but with all good news problems exist. Good problems that is.

DeepOnion is perfect for the DarkWeb but this comes with legal and ethical issues however this doesn’t mean we shouldn’t embrace it. For those who don’t know what the Darkweb is, it is a part of the internet that cannot be accessed using a standard browser, operates completely anonymously and gives users the opportunity to do what they wish without fear of anyone snooping. This has resulted in numerous (onion) sites being launched from the famous silk road (a drug trading website) to much more darker sites. Some people say this is a terrible thing and the DarkWeb has created these problems, I completely disagree in my opinion the DarkWeb is just a reflection of society and if anything as made our problems in society more transparent. This in my opinion is a good thing as we can now try to understand these problems, explore solutions and educate.

I do understand DeepOnions position on the matter in that DeepOnion shouldn’t be used for any illegal activities, but if you ask any major government they will say the same thing about cash however this hasn’t stopped people. The same thing will happen with any crypto currency, especial those designed for anonymity such as DeepOnion. The moderators can set rules and guidelines but this will not stop people trading $onions on the DarkWeb for reasons mentioned earlier.

So what’s the solution?
These are just my ideas and I am still a newbie
First off we need a .onion site, be listed on Dark Wikis and search sites such as duckduck go, and potentially have a .onion site online wallet. We should keep our stance the same in that we do not condone illegal activities but also that we understand that it is impossible to stop it from happening. We then start to look at options and pro actively attempt to fix problems our governments are failing at, we could support charities that are directly affected by the issues raised on the dark web. These could be rehab charities, gun crime prevention charities, human trafficking, aid relief the list goes on. We could even implement a further transaction charge to facilitate this, this would only have to be an minimal charge, the greater the transaction amount the more we are interacting with these darker parts of society therefore the greater responsibility we have to support people affected by it. We should scream about this from the mountains of the internet, be proud of our product and be known as a different kind of cypto currency.

We could even go further setting up our own charity that supports a wide range of charities.

I fear that if we do nothing we will just be another crypto currency in the vast sea of currencies out there, I think the product is so much more than the technology that supports it, its the idea and concept that will take us from ranking 300 in the currency game to number 1. I believe we can take DeepOnion mainstream embracing the DarkWeb and all the challenges that come with it, as soon as we are known for trying to fix real life problems with a crypto currency we will change the attitude towards the entire market place. We are still in the early years of crypto currency, there’s much more exciting times ahead and I want DeepOnion to be leaders

After all we Dominate!

As mentioned earlier, I’m a newbie with ideas feel free to shoot me down.

Thanks for reading and feel free to carry on the discussion.
