First AlphaBay now Dream Market: Will Monero (XMR) see the same spike in price?

Following up from yesterdays post about the largest darkweb market Dream adding Monero, as well as how to access the newly integrated XMR wallet, I wanted to remind Steemit readers of what happened to Monero's price after AlphaBay integrated Monero to their market back in August 2016.

At the time, AlphaBay was one of the biggest darkweb markets on the deepweb. Despite Dream's existence stretching back to 2013, in a short space of time AlphaBay had become the second largest darkweb market and arguably more popular than Dream.

As you can see by the graph above, Monero's price quadrupled from $3 to $12 within a couple of weeks. Admittedly XMR was a lot younger back then, with a market cap of only $50 million as opposed to $4 billion it's worth today. Nonetheless, XMR continued onto reach $60 before AlphaBay was shut down in July 2017. The bull run didn't stop there either.

In the 2017 Q4 XMR again quadrupled from below $100 to over $400. While now attempting to hold the $150 support level. In the background, the long-term prospect of it's unofficial partnership with Dream Market is likely to give it the boost it needs to higher highs.
