Characteristics of Darkness
Darkness the absence of light, it obscures objects in its veil.
It can hide wonders and dangers that lurk.
Starlight can brighten our perspectives or move toward an unknown danger.
It shows us that our sight can be limited and forces us to rely on other senses.
One example is the ocean depths live variety of creatures that know this world of darkness.
After all light does not penetrate the deepest depths.
Yet a flicker of light can extinguish the darkness.
Darkness is important because it helps us appreciate the light and serves a purpose.

A subject that always interests....the contrast of Light vs darkness in so many spheres of life.
There is a light that can penetrate the darkest darkness and that is the Light of the world.....Christ Jesus.
Then spake Jesus unto them saying, I am the Light of the world; he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the Light of life.

You make an awesome point. Darkness helps remind us and appreciate the light. How true is that? It is interesting how our other senses increase as one diminishes. I often think that we don't know as much as we think we do when it comes to the depths of our ocean.
