Blockstack reaches 300 Dapps mark
Blockstack reaches the 300 dapps mark, the New York-based company is supported by renowned American investors: Union Square Ventures, Y Combinator, Lux Capital and Digital Currency Group. The company has the audacious mission to be the foundation for Web 3.0, with a focus on privacy and data control by users. The company launched a campaign to publicize its mission called “Can’t be evil”, to confront the old Google motto “Don’t do evil”. This slogan represents the impossibility of access to user data by the developers.
The company continues to invest resources to encourage the development of applications on its platform, and the result is starting to show, there are already more than 300 apps. Despite being a paltry number to compete with the web giants, the number is significant when compared to other companies that work with Blockchain.
Currently, most apps work with encrypted applications that provide an alternative to data storage by Google:
- Pdrive is an alternative to Google Drive, 100% free and encrypted
- dPhone is an app for making encrypted P2P calls
- SafeNotes is a tool for annotating PDF files
- MyPodium is an audio-only social network
- StackFolio allows you to track your crypto portfolio
- pNotes is an encrypted alternative to Google Keep
- pForms is a simple yet powerful form builder
- pBookmarks is an all in one private bookmark manager
There are also applications developed with Blockstack that use Bitcoin payments, for example, BitPatron (decentralized alternative to Patreon), SatsHi (Twitch with donations in Bitcoin) and Bitcoin4Photos (buying and selling photos using Bitcoin). You can also check all decentralized apps (there are 300 of them!) With a Blockstack ID, access the app store at: https://app.co
