The Evolution of the STEEM Blockchain
I joined STEEM in December 2017...What a time that was!
Everyone was a crypto expert...
All the YouTube crypto celebrities were posting content on STEEM...
STEEM was the greatest thing since sliced bread...
If you look back then compared to now, you will find a completely different blockchain. Yes, having 30 cent STEEM compared to $5 STEEM might change people's excitement and opinion, but what really changed was the reason so many people were active on STEEM...
Back then...We blogged!
The idea of being paid to write about what you loved was...Intoxicating! Steemit, while filled with drama these past few months, had one of the better blogging applications online. I personally loved it and continue to read most Steem content with it.
Meanwhile everyone seemed to get these crazy rewards for having...Opinions and passion!
But something changed in 2018...
The dApps started appearing. Blockchain gaming became a thing. And online gambling found a new home on STEEM.
I have heard many of the STEEM OG's talk about this during the past year....The future is in the dApps!
And I couldn't agree more...
I am working on new videos within SteemSavvy and I had to laugh because the new training video isn't going to be covering blogging techniques and writing hacks...
Nope, it's going to be on....

And what about the last training video I did for Steem Savvy?
Magic Dice!
This is where we are going and just look at some of the top accounts using these new applications. They have a very low reputation score and ZERO content...But they have an account on STEEM to use these applications daily!
This is how STEEM will become a household name...It will not be because someone wrote an epic blog post about the awesome features of STEEM....It'll be because of real use cases with the applications ON Steem!
What an exciting future and I'm so pumped to see what happens in 2019.
Does this mean blogging is obsolete?
Absolutely not, it fact I think it's just as important as before...But 100% of the focus on the STEEM blockchain will not be on blogs. It's just a small part of this massive potential we call STEEM.
Buckle up folks, this is going to be an amazing ride!

A lot of people are sleeping on magic dice. I think they are the next big thing after steemmonster cards on the blockchain. I'm silently gathering their tokens and waiting for SMTs...and I have been earning some decent amount of steem gambling(don't try this!). For me dapps are the future. I can come here every day without interacting with anyone and still earn steem, that is amazing. Prior to the development of dapp you had to kiss a lot of arses but these days no one really cares about the big fishes and they are losing their influence. It's really overwhelming thinking about it will. We are on for something big.

Good point about the large accounts. Nowadays the largest accounts are mostly projects with a big delegation behind them and votes are given through use.

yeah i decided many months ago...i need to build and not worry about delegation. if i’m putting up good enough products and value, the bigger accounts will notice. if not. i still build :)

So Magic Dice has tokens? That is interesting! Even if I'm not a gambler, this can be a good investment.
Yes the tokens pay out a dividend of the profit every day. 30% I think is shared between all of the holders. At the moment they are given out for playing or delegating but the amount is reduced everytime 5% gets distributed. The real value was at the very start but when they go live as SMT's you will be able to trade or gamble them.

yessir. pretty sure it’s 1:1 now though. but used to be big returns for early delegation. got rewarded with their token.

Gamification of the Steem blockchain will ensure the longevity of this blockchain.
If new games keep appearing at the rate they have been the price of Steem is sure to rise.
It is lots of fun watching the blockchain grow, and chuckle at those that took off when the price of Steem went down.
They will be back and have to start all over again.

It is the creation of an ecosystem which is what I find so attractive at this point. While many could not see past the blogging use, developers have impressively been able to demonstrate the flexibility of the blockchain in a social environment with a passionate community. For me, it is just amazing to see what has been built over the last year as well and its potential.

These evolution bringing about varieties on the Steem blockchain is perfect. I got a friend who said he left steemit long ago because he is not good in writing and do not have content to share as well. With the varieties of dapps on the blockchain, what an accommodation! I think that blogging will move to a separate app at some stage in the next couple of years. One solely for blogs, interaction and nothing else. There is too much crossover on steemit for everything that is going on now, if we increase the amount of users it will be very messy unless we can separate out all the different uses for the chain.
true. and communities will help as well. the future is exciting no matter what though. honored and grateful to be here now instead of 2 years from now lol
