Steem-Based Gambling Dapps Are Becoming More Popular on BitcoinTalk
As many of you already know, I'm a pretty active member of the Bitcointalk forum. Even today, this forum is still a pretty good indicator to see which projects are popular. Usually I do not see that many new threads being created about Steem-related projects, but this has changed in the past couple of days.
When I was browsing the Gambling Discussion boards, I noticed that some fairly high ranked members had created a couple of threads about Steem gambling dapps. First, I encountered a new thread about Magic-Dice, which had quite a number of replies. Then I saw another thread about Steembet, all within a couple of days.
Let me tell you, it's really not that common to see anything Steem-related on that particular forum. Steem's reputation isn't all that great on Bitcointalk, due to the controversial launch of Steem, the famous ninja mine. To see Steem-based dapps being talked about on Bitcointalk, is a pretty significant indicator of upcoming hype.
Magic-Dice Has Highest Volume!
When you visit Steemapps.com and sort by 'Volume STEEM', you'll see that Magic Dice has almost 2 Million STEEM volume per week!
Now, it's fairly logical that a gambling dApp has significant volume, but it's interesting that Magic-Dice beats any other Steem-based dApp out there.
SteemBet
This seems to be a fairly new gambling dApp, but from what I see they also have a number of active players. I cannot find any statistics of their usage on Steemapps.com, so I hope they'll be added soon.
SteemBet does have an autoroll feature, which Magic-Dice doesn't have. Their dividend system also seems to be more feature-rich than that of Magic-Dice, but it doesn't seem to be active just yet.
I'm going to keep monitoring the Bitcointalk forum for any signs of Steem-based dApps becoming more popular. besides that, I always try to keep the existing threads going, by leaving a reply every couple of days.
Now that cryptocurrency prices in general seem to be on the upswing, it might be a good time to get the word out there about all the different Steem dApps. I'm not really a gambling man myself, but I don't mind promoting gambling dApps on Bitcointalk.
That is pretty interesting. I remember when I wrote my post about EOS I basically got destroyed on there. It is funny that they are finally starting to be a little more accepting of non PoW systems. Thanks for sharing this, I might have to check out Steembet especially after Magic Dice cut their rewards.
That is interesting that they are generating some discussion, lets hope it leads to more interest in Steem
I would probably bank on dapps like @drugwars strategy games. Chance is never really my ally and it can lure into addiction that I could regret for the rest of my life burning off amounts that I do not have.

Nice new positive information!
Moving in the right direction with dapps.

For the moment I don't consider steem-bet a contender of MagicDice. The auto roll function is indeed a great addition but one can not select over or under. Only the under functionality is available.
The connection with steemkey is great but that means that I can only be played on Chrome and not on a mobile.
Magicdice still has the first advantage and is more open about the dividends!
Looking forward to more of these dapps!
I am writing a post about it for tomorrow :)
Cheers,
Peter
I hope they'll add under betting soon then, that's really a basic feature indeed!
I've played a bit of Magic Dice. I think it's pretty fun. I've won some and I've lost some. lol.

Every little bit helps. If those posts can even get a few new crypto people into STEEM that can only be a good thing. Especially if they are influential and can start to change to message and view that's out there already. It very hard to change people's perception once they have their position set but it can be done. We know the benefits that we have here so it's just a matter of showing the rest of the world.
