A Cryptovoxel Concert?

Going Virtual

First off, we'd like to thank LilSiri for the invitation to participate in the CryptoWieners Party Party 2.0 inside Cryptovoxels this past Saturday. It was a one of a kind experience!

Before this, we had experienced a Cryptovoxels meet up with MetaFactory just over a week ago and explored their parcel after the Zoom meeting, but nothing has been as interactive as what happened last Saturday.

Aside from just wandering through the festival area and admiring all the beer bottles on the ground and the funky stage set up, there were a number of cool implementations and experiments going on with integrating audio into the platform.

- Free wearable beer bottles!

- Skydiving trips

- A super cool backstage area

- Play button integration for music

And although there was a "main room" feed (still wondering how they did it!) I had issues with my older Core i5 laptop to handle a constant flow of the feed, which for the most part didn't work for me.

Our 2 hour slot came in after a fun "free dive" from the highest heights of the virtual world and as the stage changed, we had our DAOrecords logo on the backdrop and a whole new set up with samplers, synths and other gear set up on stage! You can see Vandal below with his beer in hand jamming out!

Due to the lateness of our set (we finished at 3AM KL time) I didn't stick around for the rest of the artists, but from what I gather it was more fun and games throughout the 8 hour event. My computer was very happy though.

Recap

I really like what I see coming out of the merger of virtual spaces, specifically Cryptovoxel, and artists. It makes for the type of experimentation that is exciting and if you know your history, it's been the artists who have taken technology and made new and innovative adjustments. So to us, we not only find it interesting but are excited about the possibilities and feel honored to be included in this piece of history!

There were easily 30+ people in the area at any one time and in my opinion that's a great turn out for such an event!

I'm sure with the current pandemic sweeping nation after nation, we are going to see more activity in virtual worlds, so keep your eye out and next time you get a notification, hop on in and experience it for yourself!
