Back To That Time of Year Again...

Where the clouds roll in and downtown becomes calm and quiet, stuffed inside coffee shops guzzling the free Wi-Fi. Buskers with everything they have on their backs find their hovels to hibernate in until April. Out-of-staters and gentrifiers inadvertently take on crippling seasonal depression. Days are short and work and school are long, leeching everyone’s energy, ultimately inducing isolation.

Although I’m used to it, it always blows. For some people, winter takes up a quarter of their calendar year. For us here in NW Washington, we have one 8-month long season unanimously known as: “Damn this f*cking rain to Hell!”.
