Regards back to you my friend.

How is life treating you?

Well enough, thanks.

I thought you had disappeared to work on a contract? What happened?

I am here in the UK busy doing it till the end of the summer:

And now that the family are not here I have plenty of time for this computer ;)

Once you have achieved your interactive map, I hope you present it in a post.

Just out of curiosity: I have been reading of new solar panels with mini cells, which which can theoretically improve the output by up to 40%

I believe they are also now mixing mini cells with paint, so that your entire roof can be painted and become a solar panel.

With such drastic (projected) improvements, I can't help wondering how anyone can make such a huge investment in technology already being replaced. I would want to know that my investment is at least 5 years in advance of what others are using. After all, even a 5% improvement will make a difference between profit or not.

Looking at the equipment you use on the drone, was wondering, what weight can it lift, and for what flying time?

I can imagine you are missing your family, but maybe it will help them appreciate 'daddy' even more? :))

From my perspective I would say this:

No matter what the media tells us, the priority is centralised solar systems, feeding into a grid.

There have been huge advancements recently but few of them I can see making any difference for us the people. This site I am working on is the UK's most advanced because the panels are bi-facial, collecting light from both sides simultaneously, enhanced by white pebbles on the ground. And the panels move in sync with the sun over the course of the day to maintain optimum position. But all this really means is more power for the grid. Which is then ineffectively distributed before we are charged a fortune for it, half way across the other side of the country.

Still... I have already taken their money (and invested all of it into crypto) so now I shall make them their film. It is a means to an end for me.

The Mavic pro 2 has 30min battery flying time, in certain situations.

Not too sure what weight it could lift. I will test it out on the local cat ;)

I do miss my family very much but like I said, it is a means to an end.

And there is no time like the present to invest into crypto.

That was a quick reply :)

I tend to forget that the attitude of people depends on their reasons for the investment, not just on how effective the technology is.

For instance, I am tempted to buy the 'plans' for creating a system from America, which promises free electricity. It would cost $40 to buy, but they reckon it would cost about $250 to provide the material for building the system for covering the electrical needs of a small home. If I do it, it will be out of curiosity, as I do not own my own home.

For instance, for a home like yours, I prefer an old system which is created out of pipes, in the rough shape of a single bed frame. - but much larger. Half of it gets buried underground and part of it sticks out in the air. The difference in temperature keeps the fluid inside the pipe revolving, and thus it keeps the generator producing electricity all day and night.

Sounds amazing. Hadn't heard of this before.

You really are an encyclopaedia of wisdom!

Btw - just in case you had not read it. Steemit is doing a Hard Fork (HF21) and they are going to change the upvote system, from 25/75 to 50/50. They say the posters are not important, only the curators are - they give value to steemit, not the authors.

A lot of our common friends have moved to PocketNet and I am thinking of doing the same after the hard fork...I may continue to make posts at Steemit, but only with my upvotes set to Deny Payout. At lest the witnesses/curators will earn zero from me.

I mostly feel sorry for the newbies - I recently found one from Venezuela who has had her account since early 2018 and she still only has SP2.50 because it takes weeks for her to energy to build up to 23 billion, so that she can make a post.

With a small delegation and some vote-buying to get her going, she now has SP30 and can make a post per day. I'll keep helping her until she has over SP60. Still there are many like her and they will have no chance now that their rewards are being further reduced.

Unfortunately Steemit is not being run by business-minded individuals, but by coders, who think they are genuises and know how a business should be run.
