A quiet Sunday with the beastiessteemCreated with Sketch.

We visited some friends today to catch up on everyone's goings-on and have dinner. When we had decided to hang out, we had forgotten that it was Easter. Which isn't a holiday any of our households celebrate in any sort of religious way.
So @lordvdr made curried eggs and I selected some games to run and we headed over to their house.
Mr Jones the cat and Cady the Pug were happy to have guests who would brush them and cuddle them.

We played a few board games while dinner was cooking. Everyone had fun with Rumble in the Dungeon and Lanterns. Both were easy to learn to play, which was important as we were all drinking cocktails and needed a break from thinking too much.

Our host is a wonderful cook and he went all out tonight. While we were discussing the menu weeks ago I had responded to one of their ideas with the admission that I had never had rabbit... so tonight we had an Italian Braised Rabbit with mushrooms, served with root vegetables. The curried eggs were an appetizer and the meal ended with Sticky Toffee Pudding!!!

No, I wasn't going to be rude and take photos. They wouldn't do it justice anyway. It was amazingly good and full of flavor. Definitely going to have it again!

Yes, we ate the Easter Bunny and their eggs... it seemed like a good idea at the time! :)

Once we got home we settled down for an hour to relax before heading to bed. Tiger and Kimba decided that my lap needed to be warmer and curled up together after a little while of jockeying for position.

Happy Sunday everyone!

The rabbit sounds gorgeous. I have been thinking about using rabbit more (at all) in my cooking. I have it had in the past and as kids, it was a regular family meal. My dad's family were quite poor when he was growing up and "free" food from catching rabbits and fishing played quite a big part in keeping them fed.

He used this recipe-

I hope you find a way to add it to your regular meal schedule!

That looks gorgeous! We have a food market n the town with some rabbit and game suppliers ... I feel a visit coming on 😊
