Guardian of the stairs - I love it!
Our cat straddles two rooms whenever possible - guardian of the passage from one room to the next, and ruler of the most possible territory. (Bobi the Bad.)
Now I wonder what the password is for your Ruling Feline... salmon?
Is she part Scottish Fold?
Attitude! Wow. Does she ever have it!
Would you believe it "IS" Salmon treats? She is making sure she gets some by blocking our way to bed. I love when cats have such unique personalities and let us know they are the rulers of the house.

You might not love it so much if you lived with Bobi the Bad. Now that our daughter has moved out, he remains locked up all night in his sun porch. It breaks my heart to lock him in at night but it ruins my husband's mood when Bobi comes round in the night whining and using his ugliest possible voice to let us know he is on the prowl and we'd dang well better acknowledge him. The cat NEVER LEARNS that if he just doesn't make the noise, he doesn't get locked up all night....
That is so funny, that is our Tucker. He wakes us up so many times, whining and howling until we pet him. Finally, he has to get put in the garage for the rest of the night. We have been doing this for 10 years, and he still doesn't get it. lol
