The grandkids

wore out the dogs over the weekend, but they enjoyed every minute.

dials the phone himself and calls "Gra-Gra" (grandma, grandpa) every day. We cherish these phonecalls, even though we rarely understand a word he says -- and he talks like a Pentecostal minister speaking in tongues, long, rolling sentences full of syllables that even his mama and papa can rarely discern.

The dogs always perk up at the sound of that little voice.
