Hemp + Salmon Oil = Happy Dogs

Prince and Bear are finicky eaters,

and we have to buy new brands of dog food all the time to keep them from going on hunger strikes, which end the moment they smell bacon or roast beef, pizza, fish, even potatoes (meh, but hey, anything beats kibble).

Imagine my surprise

when I tried out this Hemp Oil you squirt over their dry kibble. The idea is that this oil is full of vitamins and anti-oxidants and all. The heck with that. It motivates the dogs to EAT THEIR FOOD!

Day Four,

and their food is still gone within a few minutes of being "oiled." Normally, the food sits there and sits there and sits there until they break down and settle for kibble.

In a few weeks, if this oil results in a shiny coat for Prince, I'll sing its praises to the moon. If nothing else, though, I'm happy to have something that motivates the dogs to eat their dry kibble.

And, yes, I've tried the expensive brands, the grain-free, the organic. What they like best is cheaper stuff, like Purina. High in salt and additives, I'm sure.

What do YOUR dogs eat? Ours would opt for fresh venison daily (with fur and hooves). They'd settle for any kind of chicken, beef, pork, or fish.
