What is this 19-month-old spell caster
doing to our collie?
Prince loves kids--LOVES 'em--and at a park, he's cool with being swarmed by a dozen huggers.
Then came the grandkids.
On their last visit,
something happened. I'm not sure what. My back was turned. But Prince suddenly avoided them at all costs, sometime shortly after these photos were taken. I suspect he got hurt. He seemed apprehensive. Poor boy!!
Bobi the Bad feigns indifference, but Bear
is on the hunt for our fledgling daughter
who flew the nest and left various empty spaces, one of which I tried to fill with an antique rocker that was a steal at $5 on clearance at Stuffs Etc (I feel bad for the person who consigned this item and made maybe two dollars).
Mr. Bones left with the daughter,
but he casts an awesome shadow in her new digs.
Bobi the Bad was supposed to move out too,
but he's so territorial, so vocal, so LOUD, so demanding, so set in his ways, we figured the neighbors would assassinate him if he ever slipped out on his usual night patrol.
A new and better cat
should be in our daughter's future, but at $250 (non-refundable) and $25 a month to have a cat, with rent already at $900 a month on poverty wages, she will be cat-free for some time to come.
And I was sooo looking forward to the exile of Bobinski the bad^ss!
@carolkean Kids do that, they say Mom I am moving out but I can not take my dog, can I leave him here until I can get him? ten years later we still had the dog. Which after a few years you grow so attached they you do not want them to take him.
Poor Prince! I hope he gets over it and isn't scared of the grandkids forever! They are absolutely adorable, by the way.

What a fun post. It sure does look like your cute grand-kids are casting a spell on Prince. He was apprehensive because that spell worked. LOL!
Your fledgling daughter...HaHa! Not that she left the nest, it was the way you worded it. It takes time to get used to it but you will. Bobbi the Bad will keep you busy. : )
Bobi the Bad already tries to keep me at his beck and call - and daughter fears for him. "Dear Bobi, what can I do to improve the quality of your life," she often says to him, and I don't think it's a joke. :(
She's coming home for the weekend!!! (Mostly to collect stuff that didn't fit in one trip.)

Hmmmm, sorry that Prince appears to have had a run in with the kids. Hopefully a short term disagreement.
And sorry that Bobi the Bad had to be left behind, but glad that he's got a forever home where he can continue making your life interesting!

Indeed it is, and I often think they had this time period in mind.
Then again, all times are interesting in their own ways, for good and ill, so it really is a potent curse for all times.

True. I think of it as the Bilbo Baggins effect. Contentment is so easy, and an "uneventful" life can be very pleasant. Adventure, however, is... well, interesting, to say the least, and stressful. :)
Indeed.
With some notable exceptions, I enjoy living in interesting times, I just wish more of the people supposedly "in charge" had a freaking clue. ;-)
