Steve Belshaw (left), 54, of Blackpool, has died just weeks after his emotional discovery of his half-brother Robert was featured on ITV documentary Long Lost Family. The programme, hosted by Davina McCall (inset), followed Mr Belshaw as he searched for his birth mother who gave him up for adoption, only to learn she had died in 2004. But he then shared a heart-wrenching embrace (centre) with his sibling which brought tears to the eyes of many across the nation. His family say they are 'devastated' and the cause is still unknown. When they met for the first time the brothers shared a long hug, and Robert (bottom right) told his brother their mother had ‘never forgotten’ him but could not cope after the death of his father and so put him up for adoption. The tragedy comes after Mr Belshaw (top right talking to his brother) said on the show he was ‘looking forward to getting to know his brother and his family’. 431C571000000578-0-image-a-2_1502286988488.jpg
