What you need to know about insulin and type 2 diabetes? Why are they interdependent? How do they "serve" each other? And how does the body end up suffering from excess carbohydrates?

Consumption of a large amount of cereals and carbohydrates can be very harmful, especially because they increase blood sugar, which is not the case with foods such as meat, fish, vegetables.
High blood sugar produces high levels of insulin, which is released by the pancreas to carry sugar to the cells of the human body. The higher the blood sugar, the more insulin must be pumped by the pancreas to transport the sugar to its place. And as the insulin level rises, the cells become less and less sensitive to the insulin signal. Basically, cells cannot hear the insulin message. The consequence is that the pancreas has to work even harder, to increases insulin secretion, thus creating an artificial process with a lethal risk.

Elevated insulin levels lead to an even weaker reaction of the cells to the insulin signal and, in order to manage the decrease in glucose levels, the pancreas is overloaded, further secreting insulin, to maintain normal blood sugar. Even if the blood sugar level is normal, the insulin level is rising. As the situation progresses, the pancreas increases insulin production, but is insufficient. At that point, the cells lose their ability to respond to the insulin signal and eventually the blood sugar starts to rise, resulting in type 2 diabetes, the system has basically broken down and needs outside support (anti-diabetes drugs) to maintain glycemic balance.
