DISCUSSION TOPIC:
The Alpha And Omega
BIBLE READING:
Revelation 1: 1-8
Qs. 1, 3 See Questions HERE.
DISCUSSION:
Whom did God chose to carry His message to the Churches in Asia (v. 2)? This is a reminder that though God can command His legions of angels to carry out His plans, He rather wants you and I to do it. Notice three things God wants us to do with His word and what will result from doing those things (v. 3).
Read vs. 4-8 again. What can we learn from the description of Jesus as given by John in this special greeting to the seven churches? "Alpha" and "Omega" are the first and the last letters of the Greek alphabets. So, to say that Jesus is the Alpha and Omega simply means that He is the First and the Last or the beginning and the end (see Colossians 1:15-20). He is King in the past, present and the future. We owe all our lives to Him. A comment in the Life Application Bible says, "Without Him you have nothing that is eternal, nothing that can change your life, nothing that can save you from sin".
So what?
Is Christ yet the Alpha and the Omega in your life?
Prayer:
I yield to You as my Lord and trust You, the Alpha and Omega, to keep me to the end.
Today's reading was really a blessing to my life. If Christ hasn't taken charge of one's life, then the person is really missing out a lot.
God bless you for sharing your benefit.
I yield to You as my Lord and trust You, the Alpha and Omega, to keep me to the end.
Amen
