DISCUSSION TOPIC:
Obedience To God
BIBLE READING:
Luke 11: 27-36
Qs. 2, 4. See Questions HERE.
DISCUSSION:
Observe that in vs. 27-28 Jesus emphasised the importance of hearing and obeying God's word in contrast to merely confessing the obvious truth.
What does Jesus mean by the sign of Jonah (v. 30.see also Matt. 12:40)? Many people in our generation, like the Jews, are also looking for signs and miracles before they will believe in Christ. How does your attitude to the gospel compare with that of the people of Nineveh and the Queen of Sheba (vs. 31-32)?
The birth, death and resurrection of Jesus are already enough evidence for anyone to believe that God sent Him for our salvation. If the people of Nineveh and the Queen of Sheba could turn to God with fewer evidences, our generation has no excuse for not accepting the gospel and receiving the salvation that Christ brought for us.
Read verse 33-36 again. When we receive Jesus, His light shines in our heart and we become children of light (Eph. 5:8-14). Those who reject Jesus remain in darkness.
What next?
With the Bible, easily available and accessible today, we have enough reasons to readily and sincerely respond to Jesus.
Prayer:
Pray that you will hear Jesus clearly when you read the Bible and obey Him daily.
REMAIN BLESSED!

Dear @scripture-union,
I appreciate that your posts encourage and exhort readers to do Bible studies.
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Proverbs 4:7 NKJ
How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver! Proverbs 16:16 NIV
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. Proverbs 25:2 KJV
As children of the King, we are a royal priesthood and it is our honor and privilege to search out the riches of wisdom and understanding concealed in the Word of God. It is more rewarding than searching for worldly treasures of gold and silver because it has eternal value.
I have upvoted this post and I am now following you.
As a Jewish believer in Yeshua (Jesus) as the Son of God and Messiah (Christ), I am sharing my understanding of the natural and spiritual fulfillments that are foreshadowed in the Festivals of Yehovah in a series of posts. For an overview of these teachings, use the link provided below:

There is really no excuse for rejecting the gospel of Christ. If the people of old with very limited access to the bible, could turn easily to God by just listening to the words of some of the preachers of old ( Jonah, peter, apostle Paul etc) there is no excuse now that we have easy access to the Bible - the word of God. Jesus is calling daily to the souls of men to come and drink from the river of life but only very few are yielding. I pray that God should help those of us that have answered his call to be faithful to him till the end. Thanks for sharing such an inspiring post
That is right!... and the universe is also enough evidence. Men have no excuse as the book of Romans says at its beginning.
I agree with you brother There is no reason or what so ever not to believe that Jesus is Lord.
Act 17:13 says: In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.
