DISCUSSION:

A proverb says: "When there is no challenge, everyone regards and calls himself a man!" Can you identify various emotions demonstrated in today's passage? The were frightened (v. 37) in the presence of Him with whom they walked for Iver three years? Yes, they never saw a man suddenly appear in a room without walking through the door (v. 36).
Troubled, doubting, (v. 38), unbelieving, joyful and amazed (v. 41) we're the description of the emotions in the room.
What steps did Jesus take to calm the disciples (read vs. 36, 38-39, 41-43, 44-49). Our High Priest will always identify with us in our weaknesses (Hebrews 4:15). We experience at least one or more of the emotions on different occasions. What can we learn from the disciples in vs. 52-53?

Meditate:

What does "staying still in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high" mean to us now for evangelical effectiveness?

Prayer:

Lord, fill me with the power from high that I may be a witness to all you did to save mankind.
