#dailyfoodphotography: Cha Misua
Good Day Steemians!!!
Before anything else, I would like to acknowledge @mininthecity for choosing me in her contest.
Cha Misua, from the name itself, we can say that this menu came from Chinese cuisine. The Chinese people believe that that it can bring long life, that is why they name it as longevity noodles.
Though I am not Chinese citizen and do not believe their customs and traditions about this kind of menu, but I must say the taste of the noodles is different for our local noodles.
For the common people this is just typical noodles or pancit. But for this kind of menu, the only difference is the noodles used (misua), making it more special.
Misua is a thin, wheat-based vermicelli noodle originating from the Fujian province in China (where my family’s originally from). The noodles represent longevity and are sometimes labeled as ‘long-life’ noodles, hoping to bring long life to the recipient. Giving someone broken noodles is considered bad luck, so they must be boiled delicately.
This is my second entry of the #dailyfoodphotography of @mininthecity.
