CROSS-COUNTRY MOUNTAIN BIKING
CROSS COUNTRY CYCLING
so as you guys saw yesterday I posted something about the different types of mountain biking today I will be speaking about cross-country cycling:
Terrain:
Cross-country cycling is defined by the terrain on which it is performed. XC courses and trails consist of a mix of rough forest paths and singletrack (also referred to as doubletrack depending on width), smooth fireroads, and even paved paths connecting other trails. Most cross-country trails are deemed "easy" or "intermediate", however, some paths can be difficult, even for experienced riders, such as the trails used during the Summer Olympic Games.
Bikes and Equipment:
Cross-country bikes can be classified as of the lightest bikes in the Mountain biking industry, bicycles can vary from 7 to 20 kgs, my cross country bike weighs about 12 kgs. cross-country bikes consist of a suspension fork in the front and sometimes in the back depending on the course, they are even cross-country bikes with a rigid that means they have no suspension at all, Interest country racing it's all about the speed and the Power you can put out.
Equipment being things like: cycling clothes, cleats, helmets, gloves, socks, underpants (you don't wanna forget those). Cross Country Racers tend to have tighter clothing for aerodynamics.
Difficulty Level:
6/10
Just for interest sake, the current world champion for cross-country is Nino schurter
