Some days are better than others

Train

After a mentally exhausting day at work, stuck inside a dungeon with little to no natural light, being irradiated by vast arrays of computers, this is exactly what I needed.

A flat tyre!

Flat

With it quite possibly being one of the nicest days of the year, I was seriously pissed. Missing an awesome cycle home was not on my list of things to do today.

I mean look there is a strange fireball in the sky and why is the sky a strange blue colour, I only know it being grey.

So far we have had about 6 beautiful days this summer, the rest being mediocre to drab at best. As we all know Scotland is renowned for its summers. Where is this global warming that everyone talks about?

So this meant that I had to get one of these, with money I don't have. To get a stupid train, which was 15 minutes late I might add.

Ticket

I had a face like this.

Upset face

To sweat my balls off for 30 minutes, in a sweaty smelly steel coffin.

The train

At least I can fix my bike in the sunshine now and not get yelled at for getting grease all over the kitchen. Every cloud!

Just have to put these kids to bed first. Anyone else have to go for a walk tonight just to go and collect a stick...yes a fucking stick, as in from a tree? One of his friends had thrown his last one over the fence and he was upset that his 'Mr Arrow' was gone. The things you do for your kids.

If you think Scotrail are bad you should try Abelio Greater Anglia! Seriously though you should get a saddle bag with some spare tubes in it, flats are gonna happen! My mate got one yesterday about 30 miles from home on a main road in the pouring rain... not good!

Yeah Abelio took over Scotrail too, but they were shit a long time before they got there, I think they just made it worse.

You are right about the spare tubes, but yesterdays one was a tiny shared of metal that I could only get out with a pair of needle nose pliers.

To be fair though my tyres have done over 3.5k miles and this is the first puncture they have had. They are incredibly slow but they are usually bomb proof. I have cycled over things that would have made a standard tyre pop. These are the bad boys https://www.schwalbe.com/gb/tour-reader/marathon-gt-365.html

Offt 30 miles from home, that is some trek back.

I can relate to the scotrail pain, filthyist trains on the planet.

They are the main reason I started commuting by bike. I was fed up with their shit.
