Spring bicycle trip - Elephants
Yesterday I tried the Copenhagen bicycle bridges for the first time (I did use the one of them (the one they built first) quite a lot when I had my painters workshop at Islands Brygge). It was a wonderful evening. When the temperature is about 18-20°C the whole city take off the clothes and all you see is shorts and summer dresses. There was a lot of Germans on bikes, tourists I guess, and they got the best of Copenhagen. Happy people and a beautiful light. I decided not to take any pictures but just enjoy myself. Every year when I actually feel that spring has finally arrived, I have a bike ride where I just enjoy it immensely.
But I did take one photo. Going up the hill on the Carlsberg brewery grounds (that is these days being rebuilt for habitation) I stopped to take a photo of the Elephant gate that was the inspiration for the Elephant beer, a strong but good lager.
The trip was 19 km.
maybe when you have a chance to go to our place (indonesia), here the average temperature is 30 degrees, daytime we are hot, we just cycled in the early morning or late afternoon, because the air is not too hot ..
I would love to go to Indonesia, such a fascinating culture, but the heat would be a problem for me, I must admit. Still I survived Thailand some years ago, And I was in South Africa in the height of summer so I will probably survive - but no bikeride before evening. Glad to hear that you are biking out there. It is a very good way of transport!
I am very happy to hear you want to Indonesia, you will see people in our country like to ride cars or motorcycles, very few who appreciate the meaning of health, maybe because we have just seen the technology, but it is very bad for air pollution, forest cut down, maybe you should help give understanding to our people
