My first spring bicycle trips has been boringly focused on exercise. 16.9 km - 1 hour and 5 minutes. But I did take some photos for your viewing pleasure and I did enjoy the ride, just like I have done each spring for many years. Today I cycled down to Amager Fælled.
Fælled is the Danish word for a common, and Amager Fælled is just that. A large swampy common used for recreation, dog walking, cycling, kinky lovemaking and much more. Last year there was a big commotion because the city counsil wanted to build new housing on part of the area, but that set of an explosion of protests, so the politicians had to scrap those plans even though they already had made the decision in the city hall. The area has rare frogs and salamanders that is now safe from the building plans.

The northern part of the big green area is Amager Fælled. The Southern part is Kalvebod Fælled.
The bridge called Long Bridge, one of the main connections between the large island Amager and central Copenhagen.
There has been a lot of building activity around the common.
For the last two years there has been cows grazing the common. Large ruminants are a natural part of most environments on earth and the Hereford cattle, owned by citizen-guilds, are supposed to take care of that role until they are probably made into sausages and the like.
There is a lot of swampy parts, ideal for amphibians like frogs and salamanders. When the discussions were at their highest, everybody in Denmark talked about the moor frog.
To the east the new city called Ørestaden is growing all the time. On the Images you can see the V-shaped, Bella Sky Hotel.
I came back to the main land via Zeeland Bridge. They build a lot down there, but it is still a fun place on the Amager side, with houseboats and untidiness.

'kinky lovemaking' - made me chuckle..
It looks like the left side of the island is mostly recreational and a swampy area as you said. I'm not surprised the powers that be want to make more of the land and urbanise it. I guess it would be considered to be premium space.
They had already budgeted with the money to pay for the new part of the Copenhagen metro, so it was a bit of a bummer. But Copenhagen is a wealthy city with lots of growth. They will find they money in other ways.
Dyou like cycling too @katharsisdrill? Yes, I always used a bike. I never had a drivers license. As for photographs I I like them even though I am more a painter and graphic artist.
Last... here is a moor frog:

Maybe I should come to Aceh if I ever get the money. When in the year is it coldest? I am not good at suffering warm climates.
