Mountain biking St. Joseph's hill in Los Gatos, CA

in #cycling7 years ago (edited)

Near the start of my ride, I saw two young egrets, this one took off and I was able to snap the in-flight shot. You can see a white speck in the background which is another looking for lunch by the shore.

Today's ride was almost 20 miles and 1.7k elevation gain.

I road past Vasona Lake in Los Gatos, it's always nice riding through here as it is always peaceful. It was a little overcast which was fine with me as climbing in the sun takes it's toll.

There are a few curvy singletrack bits here and there

The top of St. Joseph's Hill provides nice views of Los Gatos, Cupertino, the bay and up the peninsula

Going down there is a view of Lexington reservoir. A log flume used to go down from here to the town of Los Gatos in the late 1800's, the logs were cut at the Forbes Mill for lumber. It is now a museum.

Hello @gregory-f, thanks for stopping by the blog and glad you enjoyed one of the posts! One of the main reasons why I cycle it to see nature and what the outdoors brings us.

Beautiful Landscapes, must be a joy to be able to enjoy nature's gifts this way (and get some healthy exercise). Thank you for sharing.

Looks like a nice ride. I've been neglecting the bike lately (because of travel) but still keeping up with the muscle ups, chin ups, sled pushing etc.

You may be able to rent a bike when traveling if you really wanted... It's great that you find the time to workout when traveling, it pays off when you get back on the bike.

I checked around and was really surprised that no shops in the area rent mountain bikes. One can rent a tourist bike but that isn't so exciting so I haven't so far.

Cycling has always been my passion! I find it extremely edventurous and healthy fitness. The place seems sound and beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us 😊

I'm sure there are great places to ride where your at, the scenery and fresh air! Take some pics for us!

Thanks @gamzeuzun! Glad you enjoyed my little ride.

This is actually some astounding work! Followed
