Elon Musk understands the probabalistic nature of cybersecurity
In the video above, at the time above, he discusses when self driving cars will be safe enough for people to go to sleep in them. He discusses the probabilities involved accurately and this shows he has a true understanding of the nature of security. Security is about making people feel safe enough (nothing is every 100% safe).

Musk is one of the brighter minds there is. He fully understands what he is getting into. His vision is clear in his mind and he seems adept at bringing it to fruition. I believe Elon when he says he will keep people safe.
