CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS, PART:1

Now-a-days cybersecurity is one of the prime factor for any kind of business. Prevention is needed to secure cyberspace. Today I am going to discuss about some security method to develop cybersecurity for any business: small, medium or large.

We need information keep secure to run our business smoothly. Lost of information may cause huge damage for a business. So information security should be strong.

Following steps can be effective for cybersecurity:

• Backup data and update software.
• Maintain information privileges.
• Secure LAN and WAN connectivity.
• Improve employeeś knowledge about cybersecurity.

Backup data and update software.

Backup important information and data may reduce the risk of being lost in case of natural disaster or unexpected accident. So we need to backup our valuable information in regular basis. It will help us in many difficult situation.

Information technology is growing rapidly. We need to keep pace with it. Software firm updating software regularly and adding new security patch every moment. So We need to keep our all devices updated in regular basis to prevent hacking and security breach.

Maintain access privileges.

In every business, there are many devices are in use and these devices contain lot of valuable information according to position and sector. Even a small retail shop got one computer connected with Internet.

So access credential is very important for these business. As this is the key issue for security breach and hacking. In a business, every device need to check itś account access regularly and limit the access in some cases if necessary.

Secure LAN and WAN connectivity.

Every intermediary devices should be password protected such as switch, router, wireless access point in local area network.

Now a days in every sector we use Wi-Fi. It is easy to hack through Wi-Fi for an expert hacker. So Wi-Fi connection should be protected by strong password. It is best practice to separate the connectivity user wise like employee, customers and guest.

There are also many devices related to our Wide Area Network Connectivity like firewall, router, server and switches. It is important to make sure that security level of theses devices is very high and the access information is secure as it is very sensitive for a business.

Improve employeeś knowledge about cybersecurity.

Employees are the best part for a successful business. One employeeś mistake can make a great loss of a company. There are many example of security breach because of simple mistake of employee.

It is Companyś management responsibility to keep up to date their employee with latest information and security vulnerability.

I have tried to explain some simple but important ways to prevent hacking and strengthen cybersecurity from my real life experiences. These may be helpful for you.
