Blade Runner 2049 - Announcement Trailer
It's out and it looks damn good. Keep the smoky city lit with dizzying neonlights! It also looks like they're going for a more contemporary look as seen in certain parts of the clip. But they're still distinctly noir-esque. Here's the flavour text in the Youtube video:-
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
Blade Runner is one of the greatest movies ever made, although not the quintessential cyberpunk, at least in my opinion. In any case, I'm pretty excited for this all the same. Are you?
After seeing this trailer. I've told people i have seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched the trailer multiple times already in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.

I just found out Vangelis isn't scoring the soundtrack.. but I guess some things ain't the same again :)
It looks cool, they've done a decent job imitating the original. But I remain skeptical about the film itself. By current Hollywood form, it'll probably be safe and formulaic, good, but unexciting.
Can only hope.. lol. They'll probably be a lil more edgy because of the established name, but I don't know. The recent Ridley Scott films are like what u said, safe and predictable.
Haha, Denis Villeneuve is no less formulaic, though in a different way. One of the writers from the original came out of retirement for this though. Let's hope for the best...

Ive never seen Blade Runner anything. Is this a guy movie with lots of blood and guts and robot parts? hahaha.....I used to work with Ryan Gosling's mom - so maybe I should see it for her.
Haha, it's not a slasher film that's for sure and i think its rather poetic, at least the first one back in 1982. Watch it :)
