Why does the paper cut so deeply?

None of us thought that a simple piece of paper could cut us so deeply and painfully, but the truth is that from small and annoying problems in everyday life, paper cuts are one of the most unpleasant incidents. What is the real reason these cuts are so bad? Scientific research on the subject, and yes, scientists have indeed conducted such, found that paper is not the real culprit. The reason lies in your nerve endings - we have more receptors for pain on the toes of our fingers than almost anywhere else in our body.

Just remember what you felt when you got burned up when taking a hot tray, for example, with bare hands. "The toes are the way we explore and discover the world, the way we do the delicate tasks," explains dermatologist Hailey Goldbach of the University of California, Los Angeles. "It is therefore logical to have much more nerve endings there, they act as a kind of protective mechanism." The receptors are called nociceptors and warn the brain, through pain, high temperatures, dangerous chemical substances, and the force of pressure that can pierce the skin.
