Said also reject the thesis of clash of civilizations after the collapse of the Soviet Union, which was proposed by Political Scientist United States of america (USA), Samuel P. Huntington. According to him, the clash of Islam with other cultures is only valid in the country of the Middle East. This thesis is not impervious to the nation of Indonesia which is plural.
"That after the dissolution of the communist that happens is a war of civilizations, religions and tribes. Let us show you maybe in the Middle East you succeed, but in Indonesia don't expect to succeed," he said.
"We prove that the theory of Samuel Huntington does not happen in Indonesia, failed,"he said.
According to Said, it is because the Indonesian nation has been established. And has been finished with the debate about the difference. "Because of the religious differences, hostility because of the difference in rates is already finished," he said.
