Curitiba - Brazil
It is the capital city of Paraná, one of the 26 states of Brazil, and the city with the largest population. According to the 2010 census, the population is around 1,760,500 people and is thus in the time of being the 6th city in all of Brazil and being the greatest city of the Brazilian Southern Territory. The "Curitiba Metropolitan Area (Região Metropolitana de Curitiba)", with its suburbs outside the city limits, is made up of 26 municipalities and its population is over 3.2 million according to 2010 estimates. Thus, it is the 7th metropolitan area in Brazil.
Curitiba is an important cultural center for both Brazil and Latin America in terms of culture, economy and politics. The city's altitude is located on a platitude 932 meters above sea level. The city is 105 kilometers west of Paranaguá, a port city. The city's national and international transport links are provided by Afonso Pena International Airport and Bacacheri Airport.
