CURIOUS FACTS CONTEST #2 - Internet

I have always been amazed at how the internet works. It is very millennial, you see. Kids are not ignorant of it and it is like everything can be done with a click. WIth that said, I found some #curiousfacts about the INTERNET:

• Do you know that the term ‘surfing’ on the internet originated wayback 1992? Well, now you know. It was coined by a New York librarian Jean Armour Polly. Other popular terms like 'browsing' came up afterwards.

• Have you ever danced or sang PSY's ” Gangnam Style”? Well, it is the most viewed video of all time with more than 3 Billion views. Haven't seen it yet? You can find the video HERE and feel free to dance and sing with it. Oppa gangnam style!

• Do you know that there are actually treatment camps for internet addicts? Well, fret not you Internet Addict as there are actually treatment camps in China. 200 million Internet users in China are between the ages of 15 and 35.The director of the camp said that 40% of those addicted to the Internet suffer from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

• Do you know how old the internet as of this writing? Well, the internet is now 10,000+ days old. You can keep an exact track of the counter HERE. , I even found out that the internet was launched 2916 days after I was born! Opps, did I just reveal my age? Lol.

• Why do I want to fly to South Korea and/or Japan? Apart from the interesting culture and tourist spots, these countries have the B-E-S-T internet right now because according to Akamai, the average bandwidth speed in these locations is 22Mbps. WoW! They say that the average internet speed in the U.S. is 8.4Mbps, the Philippines 5.5Mbps and my Internet connection a very poor 1Mbps. Take me to Japan! Lol.
