With this post I'd like to apply to @curie Community Building Support initiative. Thank you @randomwanderings and @curie for a chance to apply. I will now answer some questions about our project.

1. What is your community / contest and what is its purpose here on Steem?

Together with my wife Ausra (@laputis on Steemit) we organize a weekly Pinky and Spiky Drawing Contest. These are animal characters we invented - hedgehog Spiky, piglet Pinky, purple cardinal Cornelius, mouse Dietrich, spider Victor and butterfly Betsy. They do all kinds of silly things and get into trouble a lot.

The purpose of this contest is to promote comics drawing activity within the Steemit community and have tremendous fun in the process. Each week we have a different theme, for example this week's theme is Pinky celebrates her birthday. Last week's theme was Pinky and Spiky at the Sea Museum/Aquarium.

We have some track record already - this week's contest is #26. At first the prizes for the winning entries were generated from the upvote payouts of the contest announcement post but as the STEEM prize got lower and lower, the rewards got lower and lower too. Then later I started to give prizes out of my own wallet.

Interestingly, we have a strong base of participants who submit their comics no matter if they are rewarded or not and no matter how low the STEEM price is.

2. How much support are you seeking per month for the two-month period?

We would like to get 108 STEEM support for 2 month period.

3. How will this support be used?

We'd like to give out 12 STEEM in prizes each week (1st prize - 6 STEEM, 2nd prize - 4 STEEM, and the 3rd prize - 2 STEEM. So if accepted, with 2 months we'll have approximately 9 weeks of contests and 108 STEEM prize pool (12 X 9 = 108).

4. Approximately how many users participate in your community or contest?

There were only 8 participants this week but generally we have around 12 or 13.

5. How will supporting your community or contest help grow the Steem community?

Because financial incentives are important, I hope with a larger prize pool people will become more active with our contest and on Steemit in general. This in turn help spread awareness about the STEEM community across social media.
