My First @curie Vote Received!
Screenshot from SteemWorld.org
I have been meaning to post this sooner but given some commitments I have had other the last couple of days, it has been tough to get some information that I thought was pertinent when talking about how excited I have been since this occurred to me. On one of my post earlier this month, I received an upvote from @curie! Over the almost ten months I have been engaging on the platform, I have continually read about the great community that @curie has created to seek and reward quality posts. I had never thought that I would get a vote from the community as I continue to adjust to continually improve my content for the ecosystem.
I am not a writer by trade nor am I anything really trained in communications, technology or marketing so my experiment of blogging and sharing news and thoughts has been done in an effort to learn along the process. Along the process, I have tried to summon the readers to provide feedback in order for me to improve my content so that I can add value to the ecosystem which I truly believe in. While not getting much feedback, I have learned by actively engaging with the community on other posts and on Discord to get ideas to improve the content posted. I see the trend of the upvotes received and comments on my posts as an indicator of this feedback. Therefore, the fact of getting an upvote from @curie not only made me proud of my progress but has motivated me to engage more and raise the bar further.
I decided to visit the @curie website to learn more about the project for this post in order to encourage other that like me are looking for the motivation to continue being consistent in delivering content to the ecosystem in an effort to add value. The whitepaper define @curie as “a community witness and a meritocratic community curation project.” One of their main goals is “to discover and reward undiscovered but exceptional content by persistent creators with limited success.” In addition, they seek “to empower quality curators” which tie very well to their approach of having an open platform where members can submit content for curation. This is a decentralized process where curations are reviewed closely and those that participate gain reputation to continue expanding the bandwidth of the capability of the community to distribute the votes and curate content around the ecosystem. As I understand it, @curie rewards participants by upvoting posts after curators have done their upvotes which makes their curation rewards larger. They also distribute all revenues back to the community!
The fact that one of my posts has made it through the process and got rewarded an upvote is very inspiring for me and should be for others seeking to become a more integral part of this community. I think it demonstrates that the ecosystem is achieving its goal in rewarding relevant content while increasing engagement across communities that otherwise may not exist. My excitement continues to increase as my journey continues to be more fulfilled with these experiences of interactions of generosity and humility which are cornerstones of what make communities so valuable in the borderless world we now all live in. As I continue to invest more time into this ecosystem, I look forward to trying to pay these experiences forward for others that can truly have life-changing impacts. I hope to learn more about the @curie community and how I can add value to it as well. In the meantime, I thank you for providing me support and motivation to continue my journey! Please feel free to provide any information that is relevant in the comments below. I look forward to engaging with you!
