That's correct. The more you stake of a token, the more your vote can be worth. It's like how if you power up more STEEM and get a bigger upvote. I think most tribes now, adopt a part stake, part token approach where with a heap of them, 50% of your curation and author rewards will be staked, the other half are liquid for you to use as you please.

So it's worthwhile staking and curating on the platforms for your chosen tribes mate. You can build them up and eventually unstake some if you felt like it. :)
