Welcome to The Daily Sneak!!!

Come for the crypto, stay for the community!

You can earn up to 5 SBD per accepted submission for guest curating The Daily Sneak. Submission requirements are published at the bottom of each edition of The Daily Sneak.

Today's guest curator is @paradigmprospect. @paradigmprospect invites you to reconsider some enshrined viewpoints of our society today that most people hold to be completely self-evident. But are they really true? What other sides to the story exist that we may have missed in our contemplation?

Come let us explore these Steemians' passionate contributions in shining a light into the dark corners of our common, societal narratives that need to be talked about more.

Freewrite Routine #1 - Imagination Machine

As Westerners, we love results. You might even say we are obsessed with them - to the point that we have now exported that mindset into many other areas on Earth, slowly converting the people there to this most unrecognized religion in its own right, as some might say.

But did you ever stop to think that "the goal" might not be the point of your journey at all? That "the golden goodie at the end of the rainbow" might be a fake, distracting you from all the amazing and real experiences happening along the way?

@spellmaker's posts hit home hard with me lately, he has a way with words that inspires me and confirms my own experiences chasing the carrot at the end of the stick as ultimately self-defeating... It's great posts like this that do a priceless job of reminding us of some really unpopular idea within the result-oriented societies we find ourselves in. Perfect ;)

Should all drugs be legalized?

Here's a question for you. What is one of the most horrifying statements you could ever make at the dinner table, thoroughly shocking grandpa, the kids and your concerned aunt?

"Legalize all drugs" of course!

Now if this seems shocking to you - GREAT! Did you know that there are actually really good reasons for this kind of attitude? And that people who demand full legalization from their governments may have a surprisingly solid case on their hands?

Instead of just believing anything about this crucial matter, you could check out @psychphilosopher's recent post, exploring official studies and statistics that flat-out contradict this most conditioned notion so many people have today. We can also read how our societies have de facto legalized many of the most harmful drugs already - somehow we just don't put them in that same "naughty corner" and voila - we are living in deep hypocrisy without ever realizing it.

Great and important article man!

The Ex-Gambler

Life in 3d comes with many challenges and things to get mixed up in - relationships, scarcity, obsessions, fear. One of the most devious is the theme of addictions. Some people can get so attached to certain habits or things that they have no idea how to ever let go again, and for many of us addictions have touched our lives in one form or another..

While being heavily addicted can make people feel hopeless, depressed and bitter, the upside is that people who went through tough addictions are precisely the ones who can be of the greatest help to others stuck in the same cycle. Recently, @chickenburger shared some very intimate details of his life as a gambler with us, and gives some insightful background information how it all started, what he can recommend to overcome it and how he eventually left his gambling addiction behind. A really heartfelt piece that could save the soul of many.

Thanks so much for sharing!

Mike Williams (Sage of Quay) on the P2BP Podcast with host Michael Joseph

One of my favorite internet radio shows of recent years has finally made it to Steemit, and I am still kind of shocked about the small size of his following. I am talking about Mike William's "Sage of Quay" radio hour - some of the finest selections of taboo-issue discussions pertaining to everything behind the curtain and beyond. If you call yourself a free thinker, come and check out Mike's show and the wide range of topics discussed with high caliber guests and a lot of angles to consider.

Mike was recently invited to the "proud to be profane" podcast, talking about the damning wave of censorship hitting his channel and blog, citing many examples of topics from his show that some people out there seemingly do not want him to talk about. The interview serves nicely to get a good feel for Mike, and is a good introduction to his work with "the sage of quay radio hour" that regularly deals with conspiracy research, clandestine operations, out-there ideas and taboos; revisited with an open, inquiring mind.

Warning: This will not be for everyone. If you think you already know what the truth is, this show might greatly offend you, and/or serve nicely to make you reconsider everything if you can endure some cognitive dissonance and suspend judgment. But here's a great tip: Believe nothing, but understand as much as you can!

Your discernment is the most important thing when listening to controversial information like this. Thanks for all you do Mike, and welcome to the Steem blockchain!

The American coup of 1913...

For many people today, money remains one of the most unquestioned foundations of our society. Few have looked back to find out about the history of money, what its purpose was and how it has been hijacked in a clandestine way to make one of the greatest and most silent coups happen to ever hit the unsuspecting public.

Sure, you could hope to find a good starting point out there, in search of some clear answers. But as @lucylin showcases in his enlightening post, it can be a great starting point listening to those in power that have long made their confessions public. Whether for a clear conscience, or for reasons most people have never considered, the people responsible for introducing an inherently debt-based system have always let on what they were doing.

And if we are not paying any attention - who really is to blame here?

Conclusion

This is absolutely fantastic curation from @paradigmprospect. The selections are top-notch, and the commentary is detailed and really makes you feel like you're missing out if you don't check out the posts. Great work, @paradigmprospect!

Submission Requirements

On to the submission requirements for The Daily Sneak:

  1. You can choose from 2 to 5 articles for your entry. Submissions with only one selected article will be ignored.
  2. All articles chosen for curation need to have been published within the last 5 days before your entry. It may take time for me to publish your curation, and curated articles need to be within the reward window when your submission is published.
  3. You cannot submit your own post for curation. Selections from nsfw will not be accepted.
  4. Selected posts should have less than $50 in total rewards and have not previously been curated by The Daily Sneak.
  5. We try to spread the love around, so while selections from authors that have been highlighted before are welcome, they might not be included if the author's last inclusion was recent. Similarly, if you include two articles from the same author in one submission, we will typically highlight only one of the two.
  6. Be sure to include your personal bio for me to introduce you to readers, and make sure that each selection has commentary. This can be just a few sentences about why you think the selection is worth our attention, or what is great about it - something that will make people want to click through the headline and check out the actual article. English is preferred, but other languages will be considered as long as English translation is included.
  7. Please use this web form to submit your entry. https://goo.gl/forms/VH2MGIMEgqZmd9ef1
  8. Including image links to the source article is not required (and we prefer to leave some mystery if photography is highlighted and the article has only one photo.) However, we like to include images in The Daily Sneak, and not including any image links may decrease the likelihood of your submissions being published.

If you include more than 2 articles in your submission and not all are approved for publication, your submission may still be published into an edition of The Daily Sneak, as long as at least 2 articles are approved. This could happen for several different reasons. If you are unsure why an article was cut, please review the submission guidelines again. If you are still unsure, feel free to ask politely why it was cut.

Submission Reward

A brief biography of each guest curator will be included in the edition that uses their submission. In addition, each guest curator will receive 1 SBD for each article from their submission that is highlighted in The Daily Sneak. That's up to 5 SBD for each accepted submission!

Right now @sneakyninja's upvote is not worth as much as we are paying for guest curation. Why do we pay so much for guest curation? We believe that quality curation is very important to Steem. Paying our curators well encourages them to spend more time reviewing content and picking out the best pieces!

Published commentary about articles are the !originalworks personal opinions of the guest curators, and may not represent the opinions of The Daily Sneak or its editor.
