I've been talking to the developers and they are working on an update which will be released soon. More features, and design improvements.

Once it looks more professional, it really needs a very good marketing campaign, mainly targeted to Instagram.
This app is unlike the others, that work from the inside out and mainly target users who are already on SteemIt.
This one works the other way around and targets Instagram Instagram users. It is a huge step towards mass adoption.

500 million Instagram users a day. If they can reach only 0.1% of those, that would be a huge thing for the Steem blockchain.
These guys are coders, not designers nor marketers, so I think we should give them all the support they need to make this a success. I think - once the app is fully developed and out of beta, they deserve a professional marketing campaign in the style of steemmonsters, because I think it is even more powerful than that when it comes to getting new users to use the blockchain.

(Also important is a simple as can be signup process for steemit and easy-to-find, non-techie tutorials on how to start earning, because if this works, there will be a giant instream of people who have absolutely no knowledge about any of this...)
