Mar 27 -- Steemit Ramble #85 -- Don't You Hate Missing Good Posts?

in #curation8 years ago

I often chuckle at the personalties of my two feline companions. It really shows up when I’m feeding them in the morning.

Some time ago, when my elder cat was dying, she spent all of her days laying on a blanket on the back of my couch. I’d bring her food to her there. My youngest cat, who had bonded with the elder one, decided he would also be fed on the couch.

The elder cat is long gone but Fawnya still gets fed on the couch. Which is where I sit down to work at the computer. The now older cat Dawn gets fed in the kitchen and as long as she has her food in front of her could care less where I am or what I’m doing.

Fawnya on the other hand wont stay at his food until I sit down. I can set his food down and move away for a minute or so, but any longer than that and he leaves his food to find me. He wont relax into eating until I’m sat down at the computer. As I type this, he’s curled beside me sound asleep.

Onward to today’s rambling

A Chat With An Early Steemit Top Author…….. Steemians Speak – A Mini Vox Pop....... This Week On Steemit…….. SteemMag – Steemit’s Weekend Digest #29 p.2

@infovore’s SteemMag this week features an interview with @ericvancewalton, one of the first authors to post on the platform. He serialized his book, Alarm Clock Down, before it was officially published. Interesting interview.

An Economy without Money

@texasvsjohnson puts forth an argument that if we were rid of money and returned to a more barter/trading based society that we’d learn to live in harmony again. Actually, I’m not sure we ever learned to live in harmony. War, crime and violence has always been a part of society. It’s how much we accept and how we regulate the behave that has shifted over time.

While I don’t agree with him, I’m actually surprised his post didn’t generate some comment and discussion.

USER'S CHAIN #6 : Giving Back - "Mutual Support is the Lifeblood of Steemit"

This is something I’ve not come across before today and think it is pretty cool. A user chain started by @tincho. It’s a pay it forward initiative to bring to light awesome people on Steemit. I’ll have to go back and have a look at the other posts in this series but this one is @dreemit tagging @therealpaul.

While I don’t recall sharing any of @dreemit’s work before, I do recall sharing @therealpaul so really glad to stumble across this. If the post she’s written here to tag @therealpaul is any indication of her writing, I should be seeing more of her.

We are nearly to create a civilized community here - thanks steemit

What’s that old saying, “don’t just a book by it’s cover”? I have to admit to being a tad guilty of that with @blocktardes. I have come across him a few times and will admit, I was wary of him as his username seems to be a play on the whale @blocktrades name and I was expecting some shenanigans.

Well, with this post, I have to admit that I may have misjudged here. I like this post and the sentiments he’s expressed here needs to be part of building this community. Responding to and uplifting newcomers is never a bad thing. Keep on Steeming @blocktardes.

In Defence of Homophobes

I have to admit, I was expecting a different slant on the article based on the title. @lenskonig writes about how easily we can all be homophobic just through our experiences during our upbringing. The all too human tendency to reject what we don’t know and understand.

The Cat in Ancient Egypt

Nice post by @folke about cats in ancient Egypt and how they came to be domesticated. I’ve rather suspected for a long time that cats hold a psychic awareness of having once been revered and worshipped and expect that time to return. Could be why a female cat is referred to as a queen while the male is a tabby.

Websites that may help you Steem better

@steemspoker provides some interesting resources that could be of help when writing your posts. Interesting choices, I don’t think I’ve come across most o them.

TIL why sneezing is good for you

@giantbear writes about everything you’d ever want to know about sneezing but were afraid to ask. Well written post.

Wrap-up on Day #85

Interesting array of topics today. I was able to stay home again today. I’ve enjoyed the last three days staying home. Tomorrow I have my volunteer shift on the bar at the branch.

I really enjoy reading the Steemit Rambles! I miss some of these throughout the day and appreciate you putting these nuggets together. Keep up the great work!

thank you @steemtrail, encouragement is always appreciated.

appreciate adding my post =) You got a new follower. A economy without money wont solve all of the problems. You are right about that. The key would also be stopping all the tyranny. We would have a lot less problems though. The 21 trillion we have in debt now carries to the younger generation they carry that burden, created by money by governments, banks and big private corporations. They control how society works. And that all comes from the root source of creating money. Read about Zimbabwe or Greece. And look throughout history every currency has failed. Using money has never worked in history. Barter system has always worked better but was always stopped by greedy people who wanted control of society by the use of money. Then taxes, regulations etc come in and ruin societies and cause more harm and violence because it leads to much poverty and rich, powerful people who miss use their power. That small group of people that control the money supply pick their leaders, laws, etc. The way the world is right now imo it can't get much worse then it is. We are in for a rude awakening within the next 10 years. Hyper inflation will come and a lot of people will be in a world of hurt. Its the cycle from using money imho.

You're welcome @texasvsjohnson. You certainly are very passionate on your convictions. Hopefully your posts will generate more discussion for you. OH, btw, not every user is American so the 21 trillion in debt doesn't exactly resonate. :) Have a great day.

United States is still networked with all the countries. If USA fails it would be a domino effect. Here is a good video on a guy explaining how money doesn't work and imo why a barter system works cause its built around supply and demand based peer to peer between humans. Money is made to fast beyond the nature of life and starts to destroy everything to make more of it. Just a 1 minute clip but he explains it better then me =)
