RE: The Daily Whistle Stops, Issue #36. (2/4/18)

in #curation7 years ago

Hey all, I'm a new member of The Steem Engine and I'm just looking for clarification as to how to get involved.

I'm really impressed so far, because every post in your daily whistle stops are very good, interesting and generally well written.

Now, if I want to write a new post to be considered for including on the daily whistle stops, do I just post as normal, or am
I supposed to let you know somehow that I've posted it and I'd like it to be considered?

I like the idea of having a group of quality people in community here, because, like most people, it's hard for me to wade through a bunch of random posts by people I don't know or have any relationship with. So I like what you guys are doing!

Thanks in advance for your time!

Cheers!

J

As far as I know and have experienced, you head to discord and locate 'baggage-car_post-promotion' room where you find at least two posts there, head back to Steemit to upvote and comment on the posts, then go right back to the 'baggage-car_post-promotion' to let everyone know you have upvoted and commented, be sure to tag the authors of the chosen posts.

Finally, you can stick a link of your post in the same 'baggage-car_post-promotion' room. From there, your post might be picked by those engineers and featured here.

Hope this helps.

If you follow the simple rules, your post will be considered but due to the large number of submission it's not guaranteed. We all started new. Make sure to visit other members and comment on their posts and that's how people get to know you

@prch is exactly right. When you have a new post you want to submit for consideration, find posts from 2 members in the baggage_car channel in our Discord server. Upvote them, leave meaningful comments on both, then tag these and submit your post in the baggage_car. You can look at how other members have done it there as examples. Or if you need help ... ask one of the Engineers or other leaders. (Or some more experienced member. They're friendly, too.)

As for what is a "meaningful comment?" You need to say something about the post, something that adds to the value of the post or begins a conversation with the author. You need at the least to say something that reveals you actually read the post. Stuff like "good post," or "nice one" or "great job" doesn't cut it. So don't do that. [grin]
