Personal journey of curation gain using upvotes of few cents

in #curation6 years ago

This is going to be a short article about my journey of how I gain better curation return after my personal exploration.

When I first started exploring curation, I followed mainly the popular authors that usually have post values of above hundreds thinking that I can get back good curation reward.

Sadly, the following of popular authors ended up with mainly $0.001 SP return for each of them.

The fact is that popular authors are having lots of followers with high upvote values so a small fly like me ended up with miserable curation percentage of the share of curation reward.

One day, something caught my attention. It was mainly @dtube and later @dsound as well.

Artists in @dtube and @dsound do get a nice reasonable upvotes with quality videos and music.

Many of them may not necessary have a large base of followers yet and some may not even get much upvote values from the general steemit community.

I explore into the world of @dtube and @dsound resulting my support for many creative work by these artists.

Steemit platform is not just about cryptocurrency. Supporting the creative work can really spice up the platform as well as provides an income to musician and artists to fulfil their lifelong dream.

The curation return can be really great. My upvote for each of the artists can be just about 2 cents to 4 cents but I was able to gain as high as 0.336 SP return for curation reward.

I was able to gain a higher portion of the curation reward since there may not be high upvoters like those popular authors.

Small flies like me is able to see a better return.

My early stage of articles were mainly focused on account building experience.

Recent months I have started writing under the tag @steemiteducation.

With this, I started supporting educators of @steemiteducation as well.

There are many authors with great content in @steemiteducation.

Supporting @steemiteducation can help educators to sharpen their teaching skills through sharing articles with one another.

Quality articles can also get upvoted by steemiteducation when you use the tag steemiteducation.

I must admit that there are some people I regularly support as I may have made some friends with my short stay of 5 months in this platform so it is not all about curation reward too.

The following are some of the people that I regularly support using my few-cent worth of upvote if you are interested to know:-

@jrvacation , @kayclarity , @crissimoes , @edprivat , @drumoperator ,
@theatreofdelays, @faithcalls , @kanabeatz , @uhatgaming , @brightsimpson , @davidfar , @theturtleproject , @jonmagnusson , @lasocia , @steemiteducation , @teachblogger , @infamousit , @tomcosm , @hopehuggs , @giantbear , @broncofan99 , @anneke , @heaterville , @grizzle , @ricardovieira , @alexworld , @newenx , @thomasrobertgent , @amitsharma , @leelektrik, @kryptoe , @outoftune , @laritheghost , @robertoueti , @jimmylin , @coruscate

####In conclusion

If you are new or have been in the platform but receiving low curation rewards, you may want to consider how you can get better curation by choosing who you want to upvote carefully.

Don’t just follow the popular ones but take a look at those who the rising stars as well.

By sharing who I am supporting can definitely help these people gain more support but it may also affect my curation reward when they gain more followers.

Steemit platform is not all about personal gain. When you write something that help others, others may one day write articles that help you too. Sharing selflessly is really important to build a great community.

As an educator, value-in-action is really important and we should be a role model to our kids.

Curation can be difficult when the rewards are being soaked up by bigger fish. You are so right about the potential of smaller bloggers and Dsound or Dtube. I seem to do much better with those avenues. Thanks for the mention and keep up with the great content.

Thank you @broncofan99 for the visit as well as your support for the content in this article.
