Curie Weekly Update (21st May to 28th May 2017)

in #curation7 years ago

In spirit of Curie's transparency, we wish to use this weekly section as an ongoing development blog on our project to communicate our progress on top of the many casual exchanges happening in channel #curie.

  • For those new to Curie, please follow @curie, and join us in #curie on Steemit.chat.
  • All curators on Steemit are cordially invited to submit posts to Curie at http://curiesteem.com. A finder's fee of 8 Steem is available for each upvoted post. Essentially, Curie enables any curator on Steemit to give a post you like a whales' upvote; and in return, you receive a whales' curation reward. All without investing a million dollars :)
  • Follow @curie's votes to support the authors. Please consider following our trail and voting for curated authors. If you are a Streemian user, @curie is an available trail to follow.
  • Remember to follow and interact with authors that you love going through The Daily Curie.

News and announcements

  • Curie continues to participate in the no-whale voting experiment. We are continuing with a limited operational capacity. More than 80% of Curie's votes today is accounted for not by whales but by the 150 minnows and dolphins following our trail. Thank you for your support!

  • We're currently beyond operational capacity so we are not accepting submissions from new curators.

  • Finder's fees has been revised to 10 STEEM per approved submission.

  • We are currently on standby for HF19.

Updated submission guidelines

  1. New and verified authors only, who have been persistent without much success. Brand new authors who have one or two posts without verification do not qualify. General guideline for "new author" would be 48 Reputation and under. The lower the Rep, the more likely they are to be voted.
  2. Posts must be more than 150 minutes old, but less than 24 hours, with maximum $0.25 pending payout.
  3. Authors must not have earned more than $10 from a single post in the last 60 hours.
  4. Only original content. Articles, art, poetry, videos, recipes, etc. that appear first on Steemit. Please make sure sources are linked properly and check for plagiarism before posting here.
  5. No Steemit-related, photography, religious, introduceyourself or political posts.
  6. Maximum 3 submissions per day and 15 submissions per week. Minimum curators score required is 1.
  7. English posts only.

Weekly Statistics

Curators

The Top Curators list will dynamically change every other week depending on performance. Anybody will be able to rise up the ranks with consistent, quality curation. Inconsistent, low-quality curation will result in dropping out of Top curators list(or regular curation, if under-performance continues).

This week, we have upvoted 180 posts submitted by curators in http://curiesteem.com, with 1,440 STEEM paid out to curators.

At current operations, we require a minimum CS of 5 and AR of 85% to be eligible for Top 12 and a CS of 1 to be eligible for 3 submissions/day.

Interesting Curie project

Thanks for having you here in Steemit, @curie!
I have some questions below:

  1. When you say "Verified authors", do you mean to refer those who already have their Steemit profile picture in Steemit? The profile pictures that come from their own social media accounts.
  2. You said that there is a minimum Curator Score for everyone to be able to submit, which is 1 point. Does everyone start with 1 point or lower (fraction)? 'Cos if the case is the latter, how will we be able to reach CS 1 point when our submissions are neglected from the start.

You can answer me at your convenience. Thanks!

  1. It's not a hard guideline, we just try to vote on authors who are engaged with the community etc.
  2. Currently, we are not accepting submissions from new curators. The curators score is reset on a weekly basis, so everyone starts off with 0 every week.

Got it. I think that's all I need, sir.
I thank you so much. :) I think you're all working very hard to provide happiness and hope to newbie Steemians.

Hi, I've seen some of your publications I'm going to follow, follow me and let's collaborate together =)
