0:00 means 100% of your possible curation rewards go back to the pool (used to go to the author)
7:50 (half-way in) 50% of your possible curation rewards go back to the pool.
15:00 0% of your possible curation rewards go back to the pool. Before 15 minutes you might see competition arise between curators trying to front-run another as curation rewards don't share the linear curve that voting has.
You wrote 7:50 as the halfway point, but time is measured in increments of 60... So seven and a half minutes is traditionally written 7:30.
