Hello all my dear friends! Today in contest #Culturevulture, organized @eroche I'll tell you about the traditional Russian soup, which has for many centuries the main food of Russian peasants. This is a very interesting dish. It consists of a cabbage medley. It is milled and salted in a special way the top cabbage leaves. In Russia there is an old proverb: "Schi and porridge - our food."
Soup appeared in the national cuisine in the IX century, when cabbage was introduced from Byzantium. The poor cooked this soup without meat, with chopped bacon. These soup called "empty". Those who could afford meat cooked meat soup in a rich broth. The soup was called "rich". But invariably, the main ingredient remained the cabbage medley.

1 onion
