Chakmas(Bangladeshi tribal) traditional Biju Festival
What is Biju?
It is part of the New Year celebration of Tripura, Marma, Chakma and Tanchangata minority group. The name of this festival is called Vaisabi. The festival of Nirvasha is celebrated by Tripura. Its other names are Besuk, Basui. The name of the program of Marma is called Shangri and Chakma and the name of the program of the Panchayats is Biju. The names of these three festivals have been created with Vaisabi (Beasuq, Shangri, Biju).
The main purpose of this festival is to send a farewell to the old year and accept the new year. The last two days of the month of Chaitra and the first festival of Pahela Boishakh for three days is the festival of Biju. Three days of different names have been performed at the Biju festival.
For example,
on the first day: flower Biju,
the second day is the main Biju and
the third day Gozapoja.
Flower Biju: The house is decorated with flowers on this day. During the sunrise, the goddess 'Gunma' was worshiped by flowers in the river banks. In addition, as a symbol of devotion and respect to all the gods and goddesses, flowers and lights are lit up on the banana leaf and flown in rivers, rhymes, canals or ponds. The offerings made to the deity are on rice, fruits, sugar. On this day the nearest Buddhist monastery is cleaned and the Buddha is bathe. The youths take water from the river or rhyme and bath the old age of the villagers.

Key Biju: On this day, various food items are organized from home to the house. On this day, one type of food is prepared with thirty-two kinds of vegetables. This food is called 'Pakaan'. Actually they are made by 36 types of verses. However, if all the materials are not available, at least 20 steps remain. The ingredients used in the nursery are: wild potato, shrimp fish, raw jackfruit, peas, peas, bean seeds, black beans, bamboo peas and other summer vegetables. Going to each other's house, neighbors and relatives exchange greetings and tributes.

Gozapozja: The close relatives are invited to this day. On the last day of the festival, the Chakmas celebrate joy and joy. Enjoying dance and drinking excessive alcohol as an instrument of happiness.
Two kinds of wine were made because of the Biju festival.
1. Do-chawni: This wine is made by pouring rice into its juice. This process was increased twice the amount of alcohol by filtration. Due to two distillations, it is called dual-chauani. Do-chawney color is absolutely clear as water. Binni rice rice is made of quality fertility. It contains about 70-75 percent of alcohol.
2. Jagora or Kanji: Wine produced from rotten rice juice This alcohol is quite white. Its taste is spicy. It contains very little amount of alcohol. Chakma called it 'Chakma beer' a lot for a long time.
