Pottery Village Near My Office

in #culture7 years ago

There is a pottery village near my office. Suddenly a desire for visiting came into my mind. I had visited there about 7 years ago. I went to there with my mom.

When I had visited before, there was a lazy and cozy place. But everything was changed now. It seemed to be turned into the urban area.

Only the kilns showed here was the pottery.

Traditional kiln

Modern kiln

We could see the vessels to dry under the shadow.

Each artist has their own exhibit room by the support of the local government.

The potteries around the Gyeryong mountain have been famous for a long time.

The potteries of other area had made ceramics for the novels. But potteries around the Gyeryong mountain had made the ceramics for ordinary people. So they had used the iron to draw the patterns on the ceramics. The iron became black colour.

So the ceramics of this area were known as simple and tough. At first I tried to look at the works on the traditional basis.

Artists looked like to make an effort to succeed and develop the tradition

Some artists seemed to go their own way. They made beautiful and mysterious colours. My mom adored beautiful ones. I prefer tough ones

I came across an exhibit room where I had bought the ceramics for tea 7 years ago.
I have had that tea ceramics until now. Colours were blue due to the covalt.

They were making different types.

I looked at inside of atelier.
Wife of the artist was working alone.

It is not easy to make a beautiful ceramics. To attain the satisfied ceramics, they should fight against about 1000c fire. So sometimes fortune is said as an important factor.

Nothing is easy to make a beauty in the world

Great post! Thanks for sharing :)

very nice post @slowwalker. wherever you go it looks like you do not forget to bring your mother, I am proud of your @slowwalker the same. If I'm not mistaken it is the furnace to heat the handicrafts made from the ground. view of the craft that was already so it looks hand made crafts must have high artistic soul, not everyone can do it. Thanks for this post. very interesting.

I like that phrase you use, "high artistic soul", that is definitely an accurate description of crafts made by hand. It is said that anything made by hand has a high energy attractor field calibration in the universe. It gives off positive energy.

@slowwalker, I really enjoyed this post full of culture and character. It's really cool to see!

Thank you so much @amarie, I really liked some of the previous posts from @slowwalker, for always hooking between art and culture, that's what always makes me amazed. and we all know not everyone can create beautiful art like this.

Furnace?
I remembered only the kiln.
Your comment reminded me of the furnace

Your welcome, because in our area that place like the images you post above called with furnace. ;)

Good post @slowwalker Through this post I get knowledge on how to make pottery in Korea. Apparently the way of making is not much different from where I live. It's just a different way of burning. But for how to make porcelain I have not found the factory. Whereas in the region of history very much we find porcelain fractions.

I wish to read your posting how to make porselain in your local province

Ok @slowwalker, I will take a live picture and do an interview with the pottery makers.

Hmm ... @slowwalker apparently in Korea there is still a place to make pottery traditionally. I thought the little bowl was the result of the factory. Very interesting. Apparently there are still many I do not know about Korea. Thanks for your post adding my insights about Korea again. Love for your mother, may she always be healthy. 🙆

Thank you
She will like your word

You are welcome @slowwalker 👍😁

Great post! Thanks for sharing :)

Earth, Air, Fire and Water ...all the Four Elements go into making a ceramic pot. And as you say, @slowwalker, it is not easy to create beauty. You must have passion and patience in equal measures.

People have been doing this for thousands of years, spinning a potter's wheel to make simple vessels for everyday use or ornament.

Drinking tea from a ceramic tea set can be relaxing and satisfying. I especially appreciate this experience, even going to the trouble of importing tea to get the right blend. I find it relaxing to make tea and sip if from my favourite cup. I value this ritual so much because it helps me to mediate and to write.

These small things make our daily life enjoyable.

Thank you for showing us such beautiful handiwork, @slowwalker

You are a true porcelain lover.
Thank you
