Banga literary means Pot. The Banga or Pot dance is a contemporary performance in the Northern part of the Philippines. "Banga" is a earthen pot made of clay that can be round or spherical jar used for fetching water and mostly adopted by the northern region of the Philippines. The Banga is carried by female dancers on their head while dancing. It shows the skill and strength of the women as they carry heavy maiden clay pots (Banga).

Their grace and agility in balancing the heavy pots on top of their head that the pots could be stacked as high as five or six pots with different sizes is a testament of the Filipino and how hardship become an art form and talents. Dancers of the Pot dance (Banga dance) walk in a small bouncing steps with a pot on their head held by dikin while the right arm is raise straight to the front of your face.
