Bicycle Man in Yangon
I rarely see this kind of traditional bicycle in central Yangon. The asphalt roads are usually congested by buses, taxis, and privately-owned vehicles. Since the country's opening up to the world, it has been a haven for second-hand cars. Accdg to Myanmar RTAD, the number of registered cars is 721,432 in March 2015. This is still increasing progressively.
Developing nation's transport system is complicated to manage and investment is usually focused on roads that cater to private vehicles. It is unfortunate that sometimes the results of "development" are fading culture and worsening road conditions.
