TODAY I CELEBRATE AFRICA

Today I celebrate Africa. A mother of 54 beautiful children who are unique in their own distinctive ways. Africa has set the stage for human social development and organization. In her home, she has natural resources, such as oil and gas, gold, diamond, copper, coal, uranium, iron, steel, etc. And some mothers can only wish they have it like she does.

She is home to the greatest wonders of the world, such as Ngolongolo (which is the largest unbroken volcano in the world), Mount Kilimanjaro(which stands as the tallest mountain in the world), River Nile (which is the longest river in the world that provides water and food), Sahara desert, Okavango delta and more.

Her artistry has played a significant role in shaping the culture and history of the world. She is full of beautiful people, societies and civilizations, with a unique visual culture comprising of Africans which provide the longest and largest sequence of artisans in the world.

Form of artistry in Africa includes; dance, design, music, painting, performance art, and sculpture. Dance has traditionally played an essential role in the lives of the tribes. Dancers communicate emotion, celebrates rise or passage, and has strengthen the bond between her children as a whole. The old dancers have given rise to new dancers of today.

Most of her children has accumulated wealth and fame in the world in all fields of art. We have the likes of Marie dunna and sherry sambas (great painters who have now given birth to oshagun of today). The west have taken various influences in African art, from Beyonce to Ciara and the great king of pop.Africa is home to the greatest clothing designs such as Ankara, tie and dye, Kampala and tishiki.

She is also famous for her sounds which have been influenced by language, environment, variety of cultures, politics and population movements, all of which are intermingled. And its music has produced global superstars, from the likes of Fela Kuti, Miram mangeba, and with the best of our new generation singers like Davido, Casper Nyovest, Tiwa savage, WizKid, and many more.

Literally, all the praises is for you our dear mama. Your sons and daughters are keeping us entertained. Thank you mother Africa, we give you all the greatest adoration, and continue to nurture us as u have always done.
